The challenging part of Boo Ritson's artworks is that she has only 20 minutes to create her masterpieces before the paint dries, which means only her and her photographer Andy Crawford ever see the work in its raw form. Using house paint and a fresh canvas before the paint washes off her subjects and her masterpiece disappears. The idea of using real people came to her one Christmas, since then it never stop to be inspired and transform people into thickly-daubed Hollywood stereotypes from Sunset Boulevard hookers, eager starlets and heavy duty police officers. Pop art gets a new coat of paint.
